Where the margin goes

Four places job margin quietly leaves the building

None of them are anyone's fault. They're all things a person has to remember, on a day with 40 other things to remember.

At the price file
Copper moved, the file didn't

Wire gets bid off a price file loaded last week. On a long job the metal moves underneath you, and the margin goes with it.

Rama reprices metal-indexed lines at the moment you quote, and flags the ones that need a fresh look before the bid goes out.
At the SPA
Agreements nobody looks up

The SPA exists, it just isn't found in time. So the line gets bid off contract price, and the rebate claim never happens.

Rama matches every line against your live agreements and registrations, then files what needs filing.
After the bid
Nobody circles back

A big share of quoted packages get one touch and then sit. The estimator picks whoever called them.

Rama follows up on schedule, per job, and tells your rep which packages are actually still live.
Across the counter
Every quoter prices differently

Column pricing drifts by person and by branch. Two customers of the same size end up on different numbers for the same reel.

Rama applies your pricing rules the same way every time, and shows leadership where the exceptions are.

Bids don't go to the best price. They go to the distributor who gets a complete number back while the estimator is still deciding.

One bid, one morning

A 42-line package, from inbox to sent

The order matters here, because every step used to wait on a person being free. This is the same bid, with Rama doing the parts that don't need judgment.

8:04 AM
The package lands in the quotes inbox

Plans, a spec section, and a spreadsheet of items from the estimator. Bid closes at four.

Contractor
8:06 AM
Rama reads it and builds the line list

Items pulled off the takeoff and matched to your catalog, including the ones written in contractor shorthand.

Rama
8:11 AM
Your pricing goes on, line by line

Contract price, SPA where one applies, today's copper on the wire, and the customer's column where nothing else fits.

Rama
8:14 AM
Non-stock goes out for factory quotes

Fixtures, gear, and anything on lead time gets an RFQ to the right rep, then chased until the number comes back.

Rama
8:31 AM
Your quoter reviews and sends

One screen, exceptions at the top. The judgment calls stay with your team, the typing doesn't.

Your quoter
Day 3, Day 7
Follow-up happens without a reminder

Rama checks in on the package, logs what the estimator says, and tells your rep which jobs are still worth a call.

Rama
The difference

The same quote desk, three times the volume

Most electrical distributors run projects out of a price file, an inbox, and a spreadsheet. Here's what changes when Rama is in place.

Currently
The manual bid desk
×Takeoffs retyped by hand into the quote screen
×Bids go out late, or go out priced off last month's file
×SPAs and rebate claims found after the job is booked, if at all
×More bid volume means another quoter on the payroll
With Rama
One connected desk
Takeoffs read and matched to your catalog automatically
Same-day packages, priced off today's costs
Every eligible line on the right agreement, claims filed
Bid volume grows on the desk you already have
For your team

Built for every seat in the branch

From the counter to the corner office, Rama fits the way that seat actually spends its day.

Price the whole package before lunch.

Takeoffs come in every form there is. Rama turns them into a priced package with your agreements already applied, and puts the exceptions in front of you first.

Takeoff read and matched to your catalog
SPA, contract, and column pricing applied per line
Factory RFQs sent and chased for the non-stock lines
Coverage

From the takeoff to the last jobsite delivery

Matt

Why I started Rama

I grew up around my dad's factory. I remember people on the phone all day chasing parts, then typing the same numbers into three different places, and nobody thinking that was strange. It was just the job.

Years later I ended up in manufacturing myself, figuring it would all have moved on by now. It hadn't. Same phone calls, same rekeying, more spreadsheets. The first time I watched a quoter retype a 200-line takeoff, I recognised it immediately.

So that's what we're building. Not a replacement for your team, the people doing this work are the best part of this industry, they just spend half their week on things a machine should be doing. We'd rather they got that half back.

If that sounds like your branch, I'd love to hear how you're running bids today.

Pricing

Based on usage and results

No big upfront license. You pay for the work Rama does, and the price moves with the results it delivers.

Send us a bid package you already lost

We'll price it with Rama on your own agreements and show you what came back, and how long it took.
