Founding Engineer

Rama builds AI infrastructure for electronic component supply chains, a $3T+ industry that powers every piece of hardware on the planet. We work with some of the largest distributors in the world and we're just getting started.

We're looking for a Founding Engineer to own the technical core of what we're building. You'll work directly with the CTO, make architectural decisions that will define the company for years, and ship code that runs inside the operations of some of the world's largest industrial businesses.

What you'll do

Build the AI layer. Design, train, and ship the models that power Rama's core product - pricing intelligence, demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, vendor selection. You'll own these end-to-end, from raw data to production.

Own the data infrastructure. Electronic component distribution runs on messy, fragmented, high-volume data. You'll build the pipelines, integrations, and systems that turn that into something our AI can reason about.

Ship product with customers in the loop. This isn't a research role. You'll be close to customer conversations, translating real distributor problems into working software and iterating fast when reality doesn't match the spec.

Make the hard calls. You'll choose the stack, design the architecture, and own the consequences. We'd rather have someone opinionated and occasionally wrong than someone who waits for consensus.

What we're looking for

You build things end-to-end. Comfortable in the model layer and the infrastructure layer. You don't throw work over walls.

You're obsessed with the problem, not the tools. You'll pick up a new framework or language if it's the right call. You have opinions about the stack but hold them loosely.

You have strong product instincts. You think about what the user actually needs, not just what's technically interesting. You've shipped things real people use.

You move fast and clean up as you go. You know the difference between moving fast and building something you'll regret in six months. You've made that mistake before and learned from it.

You're comfortable with ambiguity. The spec will change. The data will be worse than expected. You treat that as the job, not an obstacle to it.

Experience matters less than evidence. Show us something you've built.

Nice to haves

Experience with pricing models, demand forecasting, or supply chain optimization.

Familiarity with electronic components, distribution, or industrial data systems (ERPs, EDI).

You've been an early engineer at a startup and know what full ownership actually feels like.
